  11. I've got an odd problem that's just cropped up this evening, and I'm 
  12. hoping someone might be able to help.

  14. I accidentally spilled a *very* small amount of pop into the keyboard and 
  15. onto the motherboard of my A500. Just barely enough spill to notice the 
  16. dampness. So, whipped out the handy-dandy napkin, and sopped it up off 
  17. the MB, where it had ended up around the keyboard connector adn a couple 
  18. of those round brown cpacitors (?) behind the connector.

  20. Lo and behold, it worked fine! For a while. Soon, however, I noticed that 
  21. that keyboard would seem to lock up for no reason. It would come back, 
  22. and go away again or not go away at all, depending on what _program_ was 
  23. running!

  25. A shell tends to work for while, then lockup. After the lockup, running 
  26. Directory Opus, Trapdoor, or Term will bring it back to functionality. 
  27. (So far these have worked - haven't tried much else yet.) However, upon 
  28. exiting the program (ie, dropping from Term when I have the SLIP connect 
  29. set, and transferring to the shell to run AmiTCP) kills the KB again. 
  30. Running the program again after a lock brings it back, and it seems to 
  31. have buffered the keystrokes I made while it was locked! (?????)

  33. This happens with two different keyboards, so I'm thinking it's something 
  34. on the MB. I've swapped the CIAs, which didn't seem to do anything, and 
  35. swapped the 1-meg Agnus (as I vaguely recall the KB routing through there 
  36. - I may be mistaken). I've had KB chips go on me before, but never in 
  37. this strange a fashion.

  39. I'm suspecting hardware because of the "Pepsi Syndrome" earlier. Might it 
  40. be a really queer virus?
